FOX will charge a whopping $8 million for an advertisement during Super Bowl LIX
With much anticipation that Super Bowl LIX holds for all viewers, the viewership record of Super Bowl LVIII is expected to be crossed this year. Last year’s record was around 124 million viewers. To make the most of this viewership, US broadcaster Fox will charge a whopping amount of money for a 30-second advertisement during the Super Bowl LIX match between Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles on February 9th, 2025.
Fox
That whopping amount comes after the LA wildfire tragedy. An insurance company called State Farm opted out of showcasing advertisements in the Super Bowl LIX, leaving 10 bare advertisements all for Fox Broadcasting Company to grab. Fox sold these last-minute 30-second advertisements for $8 million each! Last year, Fox had charged $7 million for a 30-second advertisment.
Taylor Swift
Now Travis Kelce, potentially cheered on by pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift from the stands, is aiming to bag the Vince Lombardi Trophy for an unprecedented third consecutive year in the Super Bowl era.
The Potential Exposure
With a host of intriguing storylines adding a unique spin to this year’s event both on and off the pitch, it’s not unreasonable to suggest that this year’s viewership could break previous records. Given that many fans specifically watch for the adverts, major brands are undoubtedly cognisant of the potential exposure this Super Bowl could provide.
